- One that has actually implemented the product
Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (which, for brevity, we will refer to as Enterprise Edition) is a
new product. However Customer Systems has already amassed a large body of knowledge about its implementation, including a
successful roll-out for a major pharmaceuticals company.
- One genuinely expert with all the component technology
The technology on which Enterprise Edition is based is already proven as it comes from the Siebel Analytics product that
Oracle acquired when it bought Siebel in 2006. Skills in this underlying technology are key to the success of any
implementation of Enterprise Edition. In particular, deep knowledge of the following core technical components is
essential:
- Data warehouse design, where appropriate
- Enterprise Edition Repository design and development
- Answers and Dashboard design and development
- Informatica ETL, assuming that you have chosen to use this component
We have a huge amount of experience with Siebel Analytics dating back to its first release
(click here for more details), and our consultants have a lot of
expertise in these core technical components.
However, skills in Siebel Analytics alone are not enough to guarantee success with Enterprise Edition because there are other
challenges to overcome. For example, in an Enterprise Edition implementation it is more likely that a single repository
will address multiple data sources and there is a possibility of not having a
pre-built application with which to start a project. We have real expertise in dealing with the different challenges
presented by Enterprise Edition, and we know how to overcome them.
- One that uses the right balance of custom and pre-built content to meet your requirements
Every situation and set of requirements is different. In some cases, it is better to buy and utilise pre-built
functionality, and in others it is most appropriate to custom-build an application from scratch.
Our consultants are skilled at identifying the difference between these cases. They are knowledgeable about the
pre-built functionality available in Enterprise Edition and can therefore swiftly identify if and how this functionality
could meet your requirements, or whether custom development is required.
