A Manufacturing Company was using outdated Oracle reporting tools with no central Data Warehouse to report over. With no Data Warehouse, no single picture of the data could be obtained, and there was no guarantee that reports were accurate. Reports were created by copying data onto employees’ own MS Access databases, so there were hundreds of unmonitored, inaccurate and incomplete sources for data in circulation. The company needed a new solution.

Within 10 days Customer Systems provided a prototype OBIEE solution.

• Three business critical areas were chosen as examples – purchasing, invoicing and project tracking
• OBIEE was installed in a UNIX environment
• A repository was set up over the three areas
• BI Publisher and OBIEE scheduler were set up and configured
• The three example reports and dashboards were created
• Training was provided throughout to the customer’s technical team

The customer was satisfied with the solution where they could now be confident in the integrity of their data and are now developing a full implementation of OBIEE.
