A Publishing Company was using Business Objects for reporting and wanted to assess the possible benefits of OBIEE for reporting over both Siebel Analytics and Oracle eBusiness Financials. Within 15 days our consultant had created a compelling business case for OBIEE.

In 10 days the OBIEE technology and applications, Informatica, and DAC were installed, a vanilla Data Warehouse in a new Oracle instance was set up, ETL mappings and the Siebel Analytics repository were customised, as well as new star schemas being designed. 3 dashboards were produced to demonstrate OBIEE in different areas. In a further 5 days EBS Financials metadata was installed, the ETL customised, custom star schemas built for the external datasource and the repository customised. In addition to allowing access to many vanilla reports, 2 custom dashboards were produced.

The business was impressed with OBIEE and the clear advantages over Business Objects, and is planning to move ahead with a full implementation of OBIEE.
